How to look expensive on a budget!

To be clear: I don't dress with the intension to look expensive and I am not talking about walking around with a Louis Vuitton (Chanel, YSL...) bag and showing how much money you spend on things. However, I like to dress chic and elegant. You know, people that are born wealthy (old money) don’t feel the need to show this off. They dress in quality clothes that are understated, quiet but elegant and chic. They don't dress in clothes that scream in your face: I just spend $5000 for my bag. 

I am talking about a classic and elegant way to dress. Clean and sophisticated! So I guess in a way there are two ways of looking expensive: one is loud, full of logos and maybe tacky - at least to me and the other is quiet and classy- the one I am going for!
