I used Revitalash for 3 months- did my lashes grow?

I have used the Revitalash Advanced Eyelash Conditioner now for 3 months and I will show you today my before/after pictures.

Here are the claims of Revitalash:

I have to say: for the longest time I was hesitant to try eyelash conditioners that are supposed to help your lashes grow, because I heard that it might change your eye color. Having blue eyes that scared the hell out of me and it was a big "NO" on my beauty list of things that I like to try out.

However, my opinion changed when I heard that Angie (check out her video on eyelash conditioners) is using eyelash conditioners. She has blue eyes- plus she really always does her research and I feel like I can trust her opinion. So, I did my own research and it turns out that a change of the eye color can only happen, if the product comes in direct contact with your iris, however, if applied correctly should not have any effect on your eye color. 

There is a wide array of eyelash conditioners on the market, such as Grande Cosmetics,  Lashfood but I decided to try Revitalash as it is one of Angies recommendations and easily available on Amazon, Nordstrom or on their website.

BTW I see a lot women on the Internet applying Revitalash wrong! Scary! You are supposed to apply Revitalash on the top of your lashes- but not close to your eyelash-roots and definitely not like an eyeliner on your upper eyelids! Please be careful and apply it the correct way to avoid that any product goes into your eyes!

With the right application technique, I was pretty certain that no product would go into my eyes and my biggest fears of my eye color changing were diminished.

How does Revitalash work?

Revitalash active ingredient is: Decloro Dihydroxy Difluoro Ethycloprostenolamide- this is a prostaglandin -which kinda leads to another controversy of the product!

Prostaglandins are a type of chemical that was originally found in eyedrops used to treat glaucoma. Researchers soon noticed that patients using these eyedrops suddenly experienced amazing lash growth. And that is why companies have started to put this ingredient into eyelash conditioners.

Ingredients of Revitalash:

Aqua, Glycerin, Biotin, Cellulose Gum, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Disodium Phospahte, Phosphoric Acid, Decloro Dihydroxy Difluoro Ethycloprostenolamide, Butylene Glycol, Calendula Officinalis Extract, Panax Ginseng Extract, Serenoa Serrulata Extract, Camellia Sinensis Extract, Swertia Japonica Extract, Triticum Vulgare Germ Protein, Pentylene Glycol, Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1, Octapeptide-2.

Side effects of prostaglandins:

Unfortunately there can be side effects of prostaglandins too, such as:

• Permanent darkening of the eyelid
• Permanent discoloration of the iris - usually from blue to brown.
• Itchy, swollen, red eyes
• Watery eyes
• Blurry vision
• Red or brown circles under the eye
• A sunken eye appearance

However, these side effects are for the use of eyedrops containing prostaglandins- and it is not fully clear, if they apply also when you only apply the product on top of your eyelashes. But the side effects are still of course a bit scary, I admit.

My experience with Revitalash!

I anyway decided to start my Revitalash journey on October 26th of 2020 and to be extra careful that no product ever got in contact with my eyes/iris. 

I found it was a little difficult to see, if enough product was applied- because the liquid is clear and you can not really see anything happening. The application process feels every-time like- hm that is it? Did I do it right?

Of course I did before and after pictures and I checked my progress 2 months later! However, even though I noticed some of my eyelashes grow longer than usual- but not all of them- just some random lashes-overall I was not impressed.

That threw me off because I see the Internet is full of amazing before/after pictures- why did my lashes not grow like theirs? I did not really understand it and decided to give it another month as I saw many women saying the real growth kicked in after 2 months.

My lashes grew maybe a tiny bit. Not impressive at all!

I am so confused y'all! I do not see much of a difference- but I know that some random eyelashes grew longer- but not enough to make my complete eyelashes look better. What happened here? Why did it not work? 

I am so curious to hear, if you have used Revitalash and how your experience was? Am I the only one where this did not work? Or did Revitalash remove all negative feedback from the Internet (this seems common practice for a lot of companies these days)? 

However, I can see on Amazon reviews that not everyone is impressed with Revitalash! Only 69% give it a 5 star rating. Some customers are not happy! And note: it is their own Amazon store- so it should not be counterfeit or anything.

I am not sure what to think of this. Since I barely see a difference, I will not keep using this anymore. I also admit: I could not stop thinking of the eventual side effects that the active ingredient could cause if it ends up in my eyes...please let me know about your experience with Revitalash below!
