Whiskey in a Teacup: What Growing Up in the South Taught Me About Life, Love, and Baking Biscuits by Reese Witherspoon

This is the most adorable coffee book y'all! You need it in your life to be happy! 💖 Not only will you find lovely stories about Reese's childhood, but also easy -but oh so yummy -southern recipes (from  spinach-artichoke dip, chicken pot pie to applesauce cake and chocolate derby pie!) Though I haven't tried any of them, I totally will!

I also have on my to-do list Reese's grandma Dorothy's recipe for Sweet Tea (she would fill a big jar with tea bags and fresh water and set it on the back porch in the sunshine for a couple of hours! Then stir in some sugar and ice!) I totally wanna do that!

The book is also full of lovely photos of Reese and her family (including wonderful wedding pictures of her mom!). Love also her inspiring and thoughtful ideas on what to gift others for any occasion!

But there are so many more surprising things in the book! For example the cutest little dictionary for real Southern pronunciation- for example: Georgia: "Jawjuh", red: "ray-ed", tire: "tarre"! Especially since I live now in Georgia, this might come handy! 😆

Reese’s southern heritage informs her whole life, and she loves sharing the joys of southern living with practically everyone she meets. She takes the South wherever she goes with bluegrass, big holiday parties, and plenty of Dorothea’s fried chicken. It’s reflected in how she entertains, decorates her home, and makes holidays special for her kids—not to mention how she talks, dances, and does her hair (in these pages, you will learn Reese’s fail-proof, only slightly insane hot-roller technique). Reese loves sharing Dorothea’s most delicious recipes as well as her favorite southern traditions, from midnight barn parties to backyard bridal showers, magical Christmas mornings to rollicking honky-tonks.

It’s easy to bring a little bit of Reese’s world into your home, no matter where you live. After all, there’s a southern side to every place in the world, right?

All in all a very lovely coffee table book that I like to pick up over and over again for the lovely stories, recipes and photos.

I always liked Reese, but after this book, I admit; I like her even more! Get the book on Amazon!
