LAURA GELLER BAKED BEAUTY 101 REVIEW & MAKEUP LOOK

Today I have a review of the Laura Geller Baked Beauty 101 kit for you as well as the Laura Geller BB cream and the Laura Geller Baked Gelator Swirl Illuminator everybody is raving about!

The Laura Geller Baked Beauty 101 kit contains:

  • Travel Sized Baked Foundation in Medium (0.06 oz)
  • Baked Highlighter in French Vanilla (0.06 oz)
  • Travel Sized Baked Blush in Tropic Hues (0.04 oz)
  • Baked Eye Shadow Duo in Dolce/Raisin (0.26 oz)
  • Applicator
  • Makeup bag

The makeup bag is not really worth mentioning though, because the quality sucks. Very thin material. The little brush feels soft and is maybe convenient for traveling.

Laura Geller Baked Foundation in Medium

Unfortunately the color medium is wayyyyy to dark for me and I am actually not that fair. I find it a little irritating, that you can get this kit only with the medium toned foundation. Why is the kit not available in different colors? Anyway: besides that the color is not a fit by any means, I did not see that it offered any coverage. Color payout: yes- but it would not cover any blemishes. I think this is only a good light powder foundation, if you have already flawless skin- but then again: I have the wrong color and would have to test it with a lighter color to be sure.

The way I use it now is actually as a bronzer and that looks really beautiful and very natural.

I applied the foundation only on the left side on this photo. As you can see this is not a color match at all- you can also see, that it does not really cover anything.

Laura Geller Baked Eye Shadow Duo in Dolce/Raisin

I am always a little afraid to put on shimmery colors on my crease, as I don´t want to accentuate fine lines and crepeyness- but what surprise: this actually enhances my eyes beautifully and makes them look younger, I find! The dreaded shimmery colors work flawless and give me a refreshed look! Love this baked duo!

Laura Geller Baked Highlighter in French Vanilla

No, this one is not for you if you want that "Jlo glow"- no! This is the most beautiful, super natural highlighter that gives you the most subtle and natural glow to the skin. I find this better than the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in dim light. Super natural, no shimmer, no glitter! I even use it to set my concealer under my eyes! Brightens instantly! Love it! (I applied it on the pic below on the left side of my face).

Laura Geller Baked Blush in Tropic Hues

Now that is a gorgeous blush! Just look at all these beautiful colors in there. Just gorgeous- no need to say any more! ;-)

Overall verdict:

I say this kit is a really nice one- if only we would get to choose the color of the foundation! Shouldn´t there at least be 3 choices or something? You can get the Laura Geller Baked Beauty 101 set at Ulta for $39.

Here is a makeup look that I created using the whole kit. I used the Baked Highlighter in French Vanilla on the left side of my face and the Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator on the right side of my face. Maybe you can see that the right side "glows" more. ;-)

Not in the kit but I got for free when purchasing this kit:

Laura Geller BB cream

I am just not a fan of these light reflecting foundations! The Laura Geller BB cream contains tiny sparks of glitter and these enhance my pores and make my oily face look even greasier. I could imagine that this BB cream could work for flawless young skin, but if you are older than 30 and don´t have perfect skin, you will enhance only your problem areas. Please no glitter on my face, Laura!

You can see what I am talking about on this pic: enhanced pores on my cheeks and around my nose! Yack!

Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator Gilded Honey

Also not in the kit but I am reviewing anyway since we are talking about Laura Geller today: the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Gilded Honey. You can say: YouTube made me buy it, because of all the rave reviews. Although I actually did not really buy it, because I found out something really cool: the best dupe! And it is not even fake but the real thing: the Laura Geller Baked Gelato Vivid Swirl Eyeshadow in Caramel is an exact dupe (read more here)!

This is a really pretty stunning golden highlighter- but we are not talking subtle and natural. You want your serious glow going and look like a plastic doll? Then you need this one. Jlo Glow? Yes!!! (On my cheek on this photo!)
