THE BEST CRUELTY FREE MAKE UP AND COSMETIC 2014

All Cruelty Free!
Every year thousands of animals get tortured with cruel and unnecessary tests for cosmetics. It is not required by law in the US but a major problem is that it is required by law in China. Companies that have been cruelty free since the 90s (Revlon, Mary Kay, Avon, MAC, Stila and many more) are back doing  animal tests in order to sell their products in China. It is after all only about money...a company with morals simply chooses not to sell in China. (Read also: Why companies test on animals).

Cruelty Free Powder, Bronzers and Palettes

I remember many, many years ago - back when I still was living in Germany- I tried to switch to cruelty free cosmetic. Back then we did not even had Internet and I just got a printed list of a handful of retailers who would sell cruelty free cosmetic- AND they were all really expensive. I found it was impossible to do! So, I did not switch.

Cruelty Free Cosmetic

By accident I came recently across the blog: Phyrra- Beauty for the bold and girls: I am excited to announce: IT IS EASIER THEN EVER TO DO THE SWITCH! I was so positively surprised by the amount of cruelty free companies in every price range!

Cruelty free cosmetic

Check all my photos in this post- those were all cruelty free items I had already in my house without even knowing! This gave me such a hype! So today I am gonna announce: I will do the switch now and I would love YOU to join me!

Cruelty free lip products

I will not throw anything away as this certainly won´t help one single animal! I will use up everything I have! But: whenever I buy a new product, it will be cruelty free!

Cruelty Free Nail polish

Unfortunately the phrase "Not tested on animals" and "self made" bunny logos on products do often times only mean that the end product was not tested on animals- but the ingredients still were (for example Hawaiian Tropics,Tresemmé and Alberto: these companies do animal testing but label as if they don´t!)

There is only 2 logos (in the US) you can really trust. But keep in mind: a product CAN still be cruelty free without these logos!

The Leaping Bunny

 And PETA´s Logo

For my research I used Phyrra, PETA, The Leaping Bunny. Also: sometimes a company is cruelty free but owned by a company that is not. I chose to still support those companies, but feel free to do whatever you think is the right thing to do. (If you click on the brands you get to the companies website).
