ELF WRINKLE REFINER REVIEW

I love products that instantly blur and smooth-out wrinkles! Instant gratification and satisfaction! I will post a whole series of reviews of instant wrinkle removers (that will lead also to my absolute favorite instant wrinkle remover) and will start today with a review of the Elf Wrinkle Remover that cost only $3! Does it really work?

Here are the claims:

Instantly smooth, soften and virtually fill in laugh lines, crow's feet and wrinkles for a flawless finish. Key ingredients draw in moisture to smooth and plump delicate skin for a rejuvenated and youthful look. The rich blend of Wheat Protein, Horse Chestnut, Caffeine, Edelweiss, Chamomile, Shea, Mango and Vitamins A & E retexturize skin and prevents future damage and premature aging.

My verdict:

Yes, it does work- but only on my forehead. I find it´s not a good product for crow´s feet and under my eyes, as it feels very uncomfortable and because I am constantly moving my eyes, the result is gone quickly. But on my forehead it truly blurs out those 4 deep lines that I have acquired (earned?) now in my 40 years of existence. It also holds up for many hours!

Check the before and after photos!

I do have one problem though: this product can look very blotchy and uneven on my skin, if applied together with a foundation. You can also not use any powder products on top. Mixing it with foundation reduces the effect dramatically- so I found that the best way to apply is, if you don´t use any or just the tiniest amount of foundation on your forehead. Also: don´t use the applicator directly on your skin- just squeeze it on your finger. Just use a tiny amount (half a pea size) and dab it right onto your forehead wrinkles after you applied all your makeup- as a last step to finish the look up.

Here is a close up, where you can see that it does blur out my forehead lines- but it also looks a bit blotchy!

The other downside: yes, this is only $3- but you also get only 0.162 oz of product. If you use this everyday, this lasts maybe 3-4 weeks.

Still: the Elf Wrinkle Refiner is a great option if you don´t want to spend much, hate your forehead wrinkles, are OK with a minimum amount of foundation (best case: none!) on your forehead and want to see instant results! I compared it a while ago also with the Clarins Instant Smooth Line Correcting Concentrate (that costs $38) and found the Elf one works just as good- if not even better (read it here)!
