How to do a chemical peel at home!

I´m such a believer in chemical peels and today I like to show to you, how to do a chemical peel at home! A chemical peel can help your skin so much: it get´s rid of any dry patches, speeds up the skin cell turnover and reveals younger fresher looking skin.

Chemical Peels:

You have the choice between Salicylic Acid, Lactic Acid or Glycolic Acid. I recommend Salicylic Acid if you are acne prone or have super oily skin. Lactic Acid is a bit milder than Glycolic Acid, so that is a good option if you are a beginner. I have used Lactic Acid now for many month but decided recently that I am ready for a step further- so now Glycolic Acid it is.

You can buy chemical peels from 10%-70% but I really would just keep it with the 10%- the higher percentages seem not really a good and safe option if you are not a professional in my humble opinion.

Precautions:

If you do a chemical peel, please avoid afterwards for at least a week sun exposure or any kind of heat (hot tub, hot water etc) and use every morning sunscreen with at least SPF 30 (you should do this anyway already!). Also don´t use any harsh skin care ingredients like Retinol, Retin-A or facial scrubs.

ASDM Beverly Hills send me their Glycolic Acid Peel kit that includes 3 products plus a convenient fan brush.

Please watch my video for the demonstration of each steps.

Step 1: Cleanse your Face.

Remove all makeup and wash your face with a mild cleanser.

Step 2: Pre-Peel Treatment.

These Glycolic Acid pads will prepare your skin wonderfully for the chemical peel. They deep cleanse your skin and you can use these every night- even if you don´t do a chemical peel.

Step 3: Chemical Peel.

Apply the chemical peel with a cotton pad and let sit from 1-5 minutes- depending on your discomfort. This can tingle, get hot, make your skin look red or feel itchy- even a bit stingy or painful. If it is too much to take, neutralize immediately. If you are alright, leave it on for 5 minutes.

Step 4 Post-Peel Treatment Serum.

This is a thin lotion that will neutralize the chemical peel. Any discomfort you might have experience will slowly vanish. Apply this serum generously with the provided fan brush and leave it on for 10 minutes before you rinse it off.

Step 5 Apply moisturizer with SPF!

I can highly recommend the ASDM Beverly Hills Glycolic Acid Kit! It includes everything you need and you will love the feeling of your skin. It refreshes your skin and makes it look younger. I use a chemical peel once a month! If you have never tried it, you will be surprised, how good this works.
