Pixi Mattelustre Lipsticks & Shea Butter Lip Balm Review & Swatches

You know what is the worst? Well, maybe not really the worst, but it is pretty annoying, if you have super dry, chapped lips (that by itself is of course annoying), but have to do lip swatches of 6 lippies and present those photos to the world! LOL! Thanks to Pixi, these mattelustre lipsticks (that are totally NOT matte) and the shea butter lip balms are so comfortable to wear, that it wasn´t as big of a deal, as I thought! ;-)

Let´s start with the mattelustre lipsticks ($12 each)! Other than the name suggests: I don´t find these are matte at all (and I am glad, as my lips couldn´t handle that right now!). They apply super creamy and provide  beautiful YLBB (Your Lips, but better!) shades! Added peptides, hyaluronic acid, and vitamins C & E help to create fuller, smoother looking lips! YAY, just what I needed! They do have a little of a "lipstick scent", which doesn´t bother me- just telling y'all (this is my new Georgia accent, you know?), in case you are sensitive! ;-)

The Mattelustre lipstick in Bitten Rose: PERFECTION! How beautiful is this color (see below)?!?

I could wear it all day long, every day and forever! It is so pretty!

It truly just enhances the natural lip color of my lips- just a thousand times better! LOL! It feels so comfortable and it also stains the lips- meaning: even after lunch, I still have lips that look better than au naturel (and here is my french accent hehe!)! I am in love. You need Bitten Rose, if you like an everyday wearable color that is simply gorgeous!

Rose Naturelle is a brownish-nude color that is easy to wear and gives me enough color to not look washed out (you know: when you can´t see the difference of your skin color and your lips- I don´t like that look lol). The lipstick feels very creamy and comfortable, but does not last as long, as Bitten Rose, since the color does not seem to stain my lips. Still: a great simple nude!

For that little POP of color, I recommend Peach Blossom! I would describe this as a muted coral. It´s very moisturizing and shiny and super comfortable to wear. Very pretty color too! This one is also holding up its color pretty nicely and stains the lips for a couple of hours of wear.

Now let´s talk about the Pixi Shea Butter lip balms ($8 each)! As the name suggests: these contain hydrating shea butter as well as Vitamin E to protect your lips! They all include a lovely tint, so you don´t have to apply just some boring lip balm. These also have that typical "lipstick scent"- just like the mattelustre lipsticks above. Again: it doesn´t bother me, but I want to mention it.

Natural Rose is a nude-pinkish color. Simple enough and I like to put this one on, when I go to the gym- you know: a little of color, but nothing crazy. Perfect gym color! ;-)

Sweet Peach looks very similar to Natural Rose, but has more brown under-tones.

Ripe Raspberry is a lovely berry tinted color, if you like a little more of a vibrant color in your lip balm! This one also stains your lips, so you will have all day long color on your lips- even if you don´t bother to re-apply (which, for $8 a pop you can re-apply as many times as you please!)

These are all easy peasy to throw in your bag and re-fresh on the go! Your lips, but better! ;-)

Now, why do I have a Déjà vu (yep again my french accent) with the lipstick tubes? I feel like I have had some lipsticks in the 90s that looked just like that, but I can´t remember! Have a clue what I mean?
