HOW TO MAKE ANY FOUNDATION WORK FOR OILY SKIN!

Today I show you, how to make ANY foundation work for oily skin!  I can sing a song about oily skin, and living in hot humid Florida doesn´t really help one bit lol. But with only 3 products- you can make really any foundation work and fight the shiny oily mess on your face!

Of course all the mentioned products in my post are as always cruelty free! :-)

Yes, it is that easy! You only need 3 products to control oil and shine!

Here is what you need (drugstore version):

Start with a primer that literally diminishes shine and oil, like the Nyx Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer, which has a super silky, light and fresh formula that minimizes shine and makes application almost flawless!

2. Apply any foundation

Use a light loose powder and dust it with a big brush (I looove this one!) on the areas of your face that are the oiliest. I like the Elf High Definition Powder which is a translucent loose powder that creates a flawless, soft focus effect to the skin and even helps to mask fine lines and imperfections.

This last step will help that the powder and foundation become one and look like skin- but you need a matte finish! And that is what Nyx Matte Finish Setting Spray is good for! This long lasting formula grants a matte finish- perfect for oily girls or humid weather. Also sets your makeup for many hours of wear!

Here is the high end version if you prefer:

I know. THIS is expensive. I find the Nyx Angel Veil is a really good dupe for it, but the hourglass Mineral Veil is even better. IF you can afford it, you should give this a try. Best primer for oily skin in my humble opinion. This unique primer has an airy, silky cloud-like texture and layers onto skin without added weight or a greasy after feel. It even includes an SPF 15 and is ideal for all skin types, even sensitive, blemish-prone skin, and it repels water so makeup stays looks freshly applied all day long.

2. Apply any foundation

3. Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder $33 (full size) or $14 (travel size- which honestly lasts forever!)

This microfine loose, invisible clay powder blends effortlessly into any skin tone to set your foundation to a breathable matte finish without chalky residue or flashback. The secret's in the clay - it naturally balances all skin types to absorb oil, minimize the appearance of pores & make your makeup last without flaking or clinging to dry patches. The Elf HD powder is pretty good but not as finely milled as the tarte one. If you can afford it, this one is really better.

4. Urban Decay de-slick Oil Control Makeup Setting Spray $31 (full size) or $15 (travel size)

Urban Decay's De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray mists on weightlessly to control oil, deflect surface shine and keep skin looking beautifully matte. High-tech ingredients help keep foundation, shadow and blush from smudging, sliding or fading - so you hardly ever need to touch up. Goodbye shine.

One last word:

I know oily skin can be annoying- but see it this way: no highlighter needed lol- and once the fine lines start kicking in, they will look less harsh than on dry skin! I have learned to appreciate my oily, shiny skin and with the tricks in this post, I make it work pretty good! ;-)

If this is all too much of an effort for you, or you don´t have the time to layer 4 products, you can also check out the best foundations for oily skin! One foundation made for oily skin and your are set!
