Ellis Faas Lipstick Review

Now look at these unique bullet shaped lippies! Aren´t they so cool? I think these must be one of the coolest lipstick tube designs out there! So, today I´m reviewing a couple of lipsticks by Ellis Faas. Have you heard about Ellis Faas yet?

Ellis was born and raised in the Netherlands. From an early age on, Ellis had a good eye for fashion, coupled with a strong opinion about what was or wasn't beautiful. She plastered her bedroom walls with images from Vogue and would often make her own clothes (sometimes with great success; other times failing miserably). She also developed a passion for photography, especially in the documentary, portrait and over-stylized fashion and beauty genres. She worked as a make-up artist for various fashion magazines, as well as on two movies. She also started her own portrait studio, Face Value. Here, she not only took clients' photographs but also did their make-up. As her carrier continued, Ellis was managing an army of make-up artists and instructing them how to apply the make-up she had designed for Lagerfeld’s shows for Fendi and Chanel.

Check out some of her work!

I admire her creative style!

No wonder the Ellis Faas lip products look so unique as well.

OK let´s get into the details of the lippies. They are available in 4 different textures: creamy lips, milky lips, glazed lips and hot lips. And then there is the vast selection of 36 different colors! Wohooo. No matter, if you are the shy gal that only wants a little sheer pink or you are a fashionista that wants those bloody red vampire lips! She´s got it!

"Creamy Lips" and "Hot Lips" have a sponge like applicator tip and "Milky Lips" and "Glazed Lips" have a brush applicator tip. I gotta say though, that I love the sponge applicator much better and had some trouble with the brush tips. I kinda fixed the issue! The brush tips felt very stiff and hard to me- so I cut a tiny little bit off of the tip! That worked like a gem! Now the brushes work much better. The sponge applicator -however- works so much better. It feels super soft and makes it easy to get the lip color applied evenly and fast.

Ellis Red must be apparently her signature color and it is truly a bloody red lip. This comes with the brush applicator that I find a little bit hard to use but the color is oh so WOW! The Sheer Soft Pink is a lovely glossy nude color. Deep Fuchsia is a beautiful deep berry color that I love so very much and it is super long lasting. And girl, the Pink Nude is actually a gorgeous medium brown color that feels so super creamy and soft- it´s very 90s somehow, but after all, I am a girl from the 90s (and I am not talking about "born" in the 90s lol). This is a truly flattering color- especially with a smokey eye!

I recommend very much to try the Hot Lips ("Pink Nude" was the color I tried) as this feels so beautiful on my lips. I love the sponge applicator and the product is creamy, hydrating yet super long wearing! And don´t forget, how cool alone the lipstick tubes look!
